Hamlin Homes is a residential home construction, additions, and renovation company with a tradition of building quality custom homes for over 20 years. The company is owned by Alan Braun and Tony Fernandez, both Richmond natives whose families reside in the West End and Hanover.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS THINK

My husband and I had been looking for a new home for almost two years. We saw the commercial for Settler's Ridge on the TV and thought we would come and check it out. We came and looked at all the models they had and was very pleased at the community and also the homes here. We left with a feeling for the first time that this is where we wanted to be. So we came back and picked out our home and moved to Settler's Ridge in 2007. We meet the builders that built our home and we were welcomed by the community and the builders as if we were family. This is a great place to live, we love it here. We have all of the outside work done for us and let's not forget the club house with the indoor pool that is open 24/7. As residents of Settlers Ridge we can now look back and realize that a retirement community was exactly what we needed for this time in our lives. We like to travel and it is so easy to lock the doors and leave without worrying about cutting the grass or watering the flowers or other things that seem to need doing while away. While we are home there is always something to do such as swimming in the indoor pool, using the exercise room, or just enjoying living in a very comfortable home in a quiet friendly neighborhood. We are near a shopping mall and, surprisingly, only about 10 minutes from downtown Richmond although Settlers Ridge is located in a rural farming area. We have enjoyed living here for 3 years and have never regretted the decision of moving from the location where we lived for many years and where I lived as a child. This has been the best time of our lives and we look forward to being here for the rest of our lives. We try to join in the group activities which include a monthly luncheon, a dinner each month, ice cream socials, a neighborhood watch committee and other social activities. The clubhouse is available for your use for groups for a very moderate fee and we have used this opportunity for our family to gather at Thanksgiving and at other occasions. We like it here and we share this at every opportunity.

I was the first home buyer in Settler's Ridge Community. That was 5 years ago. Alan and Tony build a first rate quality home. The entire buying/building/moving experience was both a positive and memorable one for me. The construction of my home was completed on time and on budget. Alan and Tony are truly customer oriented professionals. I would not think twice about using another builder if I had it to do all over again. Our 55+ community is made up of wonderful neighbors. Of course we would like to welcome more to the neighborhood. With maintenance free living it offers the lifestyle I choose for myself. I can be active/social at our Community center w/pool or spend quiet, leisurely days in or outside of my home doing what interests me. If I want to travel, I feel safe and secure leaving my home with the neighborhood watch program we have in place. Bottom line is, Settler's Ridge living offers a great opportunity for 55+ active adults and also for the ones who are not able to be all that active. We are handicap friendly.
